Terrific Tuesday

Today in Math we worked on travel problems in our workbook.  Nadia thought it was fun.  Then we worked on art.  We worked on things were were not finished.  Flying Shoe caught up on a project the class already did.  Today in Reading Workshop we read a new Time For Kids.  Then we met in Reader's Theater groups and found out our new parts.  Omega thought the Time For Kids was interesting.  Today in Read Aloud, the animals were having a dinner party and Tucker Mouse was dancing.  He knocked matches on the floor and accidentlently started a fire!  Gus thinks Mama Bellini will get rid of the cricket when Mario doesn't notice.  Then we went to P.E.  We did lunges with partners and played Pin Down.  Carly was sad because her team lost.  In Science we filled vials and syringes with water.  We will freeze them and observe on Thursday.  Link thinks the water will freeze and turn into ice.  Good day!

Musical Monday

Today in math we read a story about a family vacaction.  We have to solve problems about how many miles they traveled.  Dempsey thinks he'll be able to solve them no problem.  Next we went to laptop lab to do Writing.  Some people were waiting to get their story fixed by Ms. K, we did xtra math, or Type to Learn.  Razorback did Type to Learn.  During Reading Workshop we got new Reader's Theater books.  Emma is in the Our New Home group.  Today in Read Aloud, Chester had a party with his friends.  Chester got his house all clean for the party.  Horse Girl thinks Chester is going to find another new friend.  In Music we had Talent Day.  Flying Shoe thought the audience were good listeners.  At the end of the day we did Art catch up.  Some people were done, so they did a reading, writing, or drawing choice.  Judy Amber helped file kids art into folders.  At the end of the day Emma shared her VIP poster.

Terrific Tuesday

Today in Math we worked on Distance Riddles.  While people were working in their workbooks, some people practiced math facts on xtramath.  Link thought it was easy.  Then we did Writing Workshop and we went into the laptop lab.  Some people kept working on their stories and some people worked on revising.  Judy Amber finished typing her story just in time, and thought it was fun!  Then we did Reading Workshop.  We sorted our words and wrote them on paper.  Starry Starr 33 thought it was pretty easy.  Today in The Cricket in Times Square Mario got Chester Cricket at house in Chinatown.  He also got a bell as a gift from the Chinese man.  Ash thinks Tucker Mouse might want to share his new house with him.  Then we went to P.E.  We played musical hula hoops.  Panda thought it was really fun!  At the end of the day we did Science.  We watched what happened when we put vials of cold and hot water into cups of room temperature water.  Dempsey learned that cold water goes down, and hot water goes up!

Super Tuesday

Today was a great day in Room 9!  We learned a lot, while having fun at the same time. Gus learned how to figure out how many 10s a number has in Math Review.  In PE we did a fit test and Gymnastics Suit liked the free style station because he did a plank.  We started a new book today in Read Aloud called The Cricket in Times Square.  At the end of the first chapter the mouse named Tucker heard a strange sound and Bunny thinks it might be the cricket.  Today in science we learned about hot water and cold water.  Hot water expands and cold water contracts.  Ms. Bunny M thought science was fun!  Here are some pictures of us:

PE Day

This morning we did Math.  We did a little assessment about addition and subtraction.  Link thought it was fun!  Next we did Writing Workshop and we worked on our stories about a special object.  Katie is writing about her first Build-a-Bear.  Next we did Reading Workshop.  We corrected our assessment from yesterday, and we did stations.  Emma liked doing Word Study.  After lunch we finished Esperanza Rising.  In the end Esperanza was happy, she wanted Isabel to practice croceting and she realized friends and family are more important than money.  Bigfoot is looking forward to the next read aloud book we will start on Monday!  In P.E. we played Mission Impossible, but Link says it is really possible!  At the end of the day we did Art.  We made a project that looked like fireworks.  Kcorb thought it was cool!  See you tomorrow!

Chilly Tuesday

This morning in Math we worked in our math workbooks on addition problems.  Carly thought it was easy!  Then we did Writing and we started a story about a special object and Judy Amber is writing about her dog Roxy.  Next we did Reading Workshop.  We practiced our spelling words in different ways and Emma used a whiteboard.  We also practiced analyzing a character and visualizing. In Read Aloud all the strikers had to go back to Mexico and Esperanza found Marta and she helped her.  Link thought it was good that Esperanza helped.  In P.E. we had free choice.  Rolias chose dodge ball.  At the end of the day we made a slope and watched what happened when we dropped water on it.  Bunny thought it was cool to watch the beads go down!
